There are two stone arch foot bridges, from the river bank, to green island, to goat island, built over 100 years ago, that have deteriorated to the point of being unsafe for foot traffic. They put steel truss bridges over them but have decided they need to replace it all because they aren't pretty.
They shut off the American side in 69 to see if there was anything to do to slow erosion. They hauled the coins out they could find at the time to keep people from going in at night to do it. They decided the best thing to do was leave it be.
What's going to be real expensive is keeping the river bed wet. I guess there is concern the rock would crumble if it dries out.
If flint wants any of it they better catch it on the way by. 4 of the 5 great lakes drain over the falls.
Niagara falls is actually 3 separate falls. Horseshoe, on the Canadian side, American on the US side, and bridal veil between Goat Island and another small island in between the 2.
