If you want to keep it looking original you can use the generator from a 801 series diesel. You would also need the voltage regulator from the same series.This way your wiring will all hook up with no changes. The coil will either need a resistor or be changed to one with a built in resistor. Your headlights will need to be changed to Ford #310062F. Depending on your rear light it will need to be changed too. Use a group 24 battery. It fits neatly where old 6 volt was. The starter does not need to be changed. The windings are heavier and will take the load. Also need to change wires on amp gauge from one side to the other so it will show charge correctly. You will be going from pos. ground to neg. ground.
