: Thanks for the answers to my questions about dwell. Set my point gap at 20 as told, dwell was 30, set gap at 50, dwell was 40. Dwell meter must not work right on the Farmall M. At point gap of 20 will still spin out wheels in 2'nd gear while pulling transfer sled, lots of power. Guess I better stick to the gauges, a point gap of about 90 would proabably be too much. : thanks, Terry Terry, Well, you sure got your ears full anyway didn't you? Remember that point gap and timing are hand in hand things. The most common procedure is set the points first, then the timing, because the points gap and opening has a direct effect on the timing. We always "played" with the timing a bit after the point setting if we were really after the most horses. We didn't mess with the points once we knew they were correctly set. Have a good day sir. John
