You have a good one there also. Minnesota is the salt capital of the world. They salt the roads when it rains in winter. The trick is to watch the problem spots and keep ahead of it. It's first 4 years were in Texas, that helps. The box was smashed in on one side when I bought it so I got a new take off on eBay for $300. I didn't put the box on until about 4 years ago but the original was rust free. These Fords have a very solid body. The big problem area is inside the doors, behind the rubber weather stripping on the bottom. It is a salt trap. Keep that clean and the doors will last a long time. This body shop visit was because there were two tiny surface rust spots on the inside rear corners of the back doors. A very easy fix if caught right away. A mouse had built a nest inside one rocker so it held moisture and started to rust. He charged $600 to fix a scratch, pull a small dent and replace a section of rocker panel. It is driven in salt all the time, you just have to take care of them. A little extra cleaning can save you a lot of issues.
