I was scheduled for my regular 15 year colonoscopy along with my wife. She told the pre interviewer that she was having some acid reflux and would like an upper GI also done. I mentioned that I was having a little trouble swallowing and would also like an upper GI. They said fine, you both can get the blue-light special. Long story short, wife was okay, but the Dr. found cancer on my esophagus. By the time I had a Pet-scan,it had spread to some lymph nodes in my chest. That meant surgery was not an option, but six weeks of chemo and fifteen radiation treatments shrunk the tumor on the esophagus so I can now eat solid foods. I started four more weekly chemo treatments today with a cat-scan in six weeks to see how the treatment is working .. Do Not Neglect Regular Check-Ups!!!!
