Majority of the time I wear Chippawa loggers that are chip-a-tek ( same as Gortex), Thinsulate insulation, and electrical safety toe ( non steel). These boot need no breaking and if taken care of I get 4 to5 years from them and they run around $280.00. I have had Carolina and Georgia logger boots and find them very hard to break in and don't wear as good. I have worn Red Wing wellingtons but they have lost their quality. I bought a pair of Schmidt wellingtons that are lined and with the electrical safety toe. I have had them about 6 months and so far so good but time will tell how they hold up. I like the loggers because of the heels because I have had several back operations and injections and a low heeled boot gives me a back ach.
