Wasn't that big of a deal, actually we laughed about it.
About 30 years ago, I bought a full sized Chevy Blazer from a used truck dealer I was buddies with. I test drove it for several miles down the open road, etc. and it drove great. Went back to his lot, made a deal, and paid for it.
I left his lot, drove three blocks down the street, and a universal joint in the front drive shaft broke. Just plain fell apart. The simple front u joint, not the big CV by the transfer case. I got my trailer and hauled it to my shop and fixed it. I called him and gave him a hard time about it, but I insisted I'd bought the vehicle "AS IS" and I didn't expect him to fix it. I wasn't going to wreck a friendship over a $10 u joint kit.
He picked up the tab the next time we had coffee together.
