: I am looking at a 435-D that will be sold at : auction, but I'm having trouble finding out the : specs. I'd appreciate any information, including : engine HP, availability of parts (clutch in : particular), alternatives to JD parts (it's a GM : engine), pros/cons, etc. Thanks in advance for your : help! J.D. 435-D is a 2 cyl General Mtrs Diesel with 106.2 c.i. 29 drawbar h.p. 32 belt h.p. comes in 4 speed and 5 speed transmissions. Front tires 5:00x15, 6;00X16, rears usually 10x34 or 12x28. Front axle adjustable 48"-80" or 56"-88".Some models have power adj rear wheels. Bore and stroke 3-7/8 x 4-1/2, compression ratio 17 to 1, max torque 100.1 ft #, hydraulic sys 9 qts, cooling 2-1/2 gal, fuel 10-1/2 gal, replaceable cartridge type filters, 10 inch single disk foot operated clutch. approx 3200 3 weight. This is a very strong & economical 2-3 plow tractor. It is rather loud & some writers have labeled it "a chainsaw on steriods", but it'll run all day on less than a tank of fuel. The only drawback with most 435's is that they are sometimes hard to start in cold weather. My advice is buy the book, " The Little Giants" by J.R. Hobbs and read up on it before you purchase the tractor. Hope this isn't too late to help.
