Here in Denmark we also use dyed diesel in our farm tractors. Ordinary diesel is about one USD per liter and on the dyed diesel we get about 0.40 dollar tax return I think. So it is tempting to use it in our cars. Small diesels are very common here. Not only pickups. I know our tax people are checking but I don’t think many get caught and I would never use it myself either. I drive a diesel but I have never been checked that I know off. I have heard that they can check it just standing next to the car with what must be a kind of geiger counter as the dyed diesel is slightly radioactive. Is this how they are checking it over there?
