Bret4207, We have a leash law, dogs must be fenced in or on a leash. Helps keep down the number of stray animals. Some people in the country don't follow the law. Neighbor's chickens get eaten by dog. Cops won't do anything about it. The fox like chickens too, neighbor shoots them, but not the dogs.
I'm with you, let any animal run free range they will get shot, run over, or another animal will get them.
I have a have a female cat, shots, spayed. At night is she isn't happy, no one is happy. When she want out to hunt, better let her out or you won't get any sleep. She keeps the mice down. If she never comes back, I'm not going to blame anyone, things happen, just the way it is. Can't keep a cat inside if she doesn't want to be inside. No law requiring cats to be on a leash.
Neighbor just buried his dog, car hit it. Things happen. I'll never shoot another person's dog or cat, I'll just call the county dog catcher, let him deal with it. People want to get their animal back, they will have to pay the county a fine and the animal shelter.
