This doesn't fit your categories, but it is a farm/tractor story. Since I didn't get any of the home place,(brother got 100% of everything) not much is still around. My cousin has the WD which our grandfather, and my father bought new in 1950. Cousin(20 years my senior) was a teenager and present at the delivery/payment.
A friend bought Dad's 1966 JD 2510 from my brother, and sold it to me, to rescue it from sitting outside. It had been on the same farm, and always under cover, until brother lost about everything. I fixed up the 2510(poured water out of the air cleaner cup!), used it a couple years, but decided I didn't need so many small tractors, and found a good buyer.
I helped an elderly neighbor/friend obtain Dad's late Gleaner E. Bought new 1967. At least that never sat out. If and/or when it becomes available, I'll have to buy it.
The buddy who got Dad's 2510 for me has the old Mulkey elevator, Century sprayer, Howard "Power Arm" (3 point backhoe), all purchased new.
