Putting together the few missing pieces to the seed meter drives. For some reason the drive chains, idlers and rollers for the row units seem to be mostly missing on this planter. I just scored a parts book which makes the search that much easier. I bought up all the needed parts I could find on ebay, which wasn't many. Google search for parts was successful, but they come direct from a company in China. I do not see this as a positive trend as it means they are no longer using US companies to distribute their (often) cheesy replacement parts, so no real contribution to any local economy here. I guess now that I have the parts book I will head out there and make a complete list of what is needed. Maybe call Worthington and see do they have any planters in the bone yard. I have a few catalogs here for the major aftermarket suppliers. Any places you know of stock a lot of used or aftermarket planter parts?

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
