Find out what brand of hip your doctor uses and make sure it has a good record. I know DePuy and Stryker have both had recalls and there has been some controversy about the material used in the joint. Even the metal on metal have had problems.
My Mom had it done twice because the first one was recalled. You want to do your research first and don't just say OK to whatever brand the doctor suggests!
