I do maintenance work including opening and closing graves for burial on a small cemetery. On one occasion, the funeral director re-appeared at the burial site, just before the casket was buried, to open the casket and place the woman's rings on her finger. He had removed them as a matter of common practice, but the family requested they be re-placed on her finger. On another occasion the same funeral director arrived at the burial site too late to retrieve a pair of earrings which the family wanted to give to a grandchild. He said "I'll have to BS my way out of this one!"
