I'm actually watching a documentary on WW2 right now. It was saying that he had numerous assassination attempts made on his life. After Russia got their stuff lined up, and pushed Germany back out of Russia for the most part, Hitler had a huge meeting. An officer, I believe it was Hermann Goering, had disobeyed and order to fight until they were all dead and burn some big Russian city. He did not. So they had this big meeting, and an assassination attempt was made by a superior officer. Hitler killed hundreds of his officers and personnel. The few that were left were too afraid to try anything after that. Then, since no one was left, they had to replace the soldiers and some officers with these boys about 14-16 years old that Hitler had been brainwashed into thinking that he was right and that they needed to fight.
