Big day today. We fired off the engine in the tractor this morning. It runs like a a dream. Pushed the nose of the tractor outside so it wouldn't smoke up the shop. It didn't hardly even smoke, and it is running in the first pic. We had planned on fireing it yesterday, but things didn't go as planned. When I took it apart the tips of the fan blades were bent and wasn't sure why. I found out yesterday when putting the shroud, fan and radiator back in. The water pump was a recent replacement, and when "who-ever" put the fan blade assy back on they put the locking tab that keeps the water pump nut from loosening, between the hub and the blade assy, which cocked and warped the blades. and they got into the shroud. I put the lock tab on the outside of the blade assy where it belonged, but the blades were hitting. Had to do some reconfiguring of the shroud to get things to clear again after straightening the fan tips. Also the bolts that held the radiator into the side panals were missing and it took a while to get the radiator realigned to bolt it where it belonged.It was getting late, and then we discovered that the injection pump had jumped a tooth when we had the timeing cover off to install all new crank bearings and sleeves and pistons. This morning we slid the pump back a bit and advanced it a tooth. It fired rite up this morning, and ran it a while and then retorqued the heads and readjusted the valves. Spent the afternoon completeing the rear lighting system/visor on the back of the cab. Looks like the cold spell that we're having has made the maple sap run again, so we will be back in the sugar bush again tomarrow. Loren
