: I changed the fuel filter on my Ford 3600 diesel tractor today and now the tractor won't start. Apparently I have air in the fuel lines. I have tried bleeding the air out at the fuel filter but with no luck. Any ideas how else to get the ole' gal started again? First loosen the bleeder screw on top of the filter housing and wait until straight fuel and no air is comming out.tighten screw. Next at injection pump there is a screw (need 5/16 wrench) loosen up and spin motor over until you have good fuel flow then tighten screw. Third loosen all three injector lines at the injectors. turn over engine, you should start to get good fuel squirting out between line and nut. While still cranking over( may need helper) start to tighten lines, machine should attempt to start. Be careful not to crank starter to long as you could damage the starter motor.
