Seems that a lot of people are blaming the businesses and that is not really where the fault lies - for the most part their profit is flat.
As someone else mentioned the government has been cooking the books for years but it can't last forever. Much of the fault lies with the government spending so much to buy feree stuff for those who didn't earn it and have no right to it. In our city they actually have tables set up at intersections to give free phones and air minutes away. At the low end high school my wife teaches at every student has a free government phone!
Also that $15 dollar minimum wage some folks wanted is causing a lot of the low end business, like fast food, to either raise prices significantly or cut employees.
No matter how you cut it the cause is phony politicians trying to bribe for votes by using our money (and borrowing our grandkids money) to give free stuff away to people who do not deserve it.
