Hydraulic Lift for Ford 8N

IF my blade is lifted and I shut off the engine, it does not take
long for the lift to drop. THis suggests to me that
I need to overhaul the hydraulic system. Is this a
tough job on a Ford 8N. Does the rear end have to
be dismantled or can it be done from the top? THe lift
works fine, it just does not hold. I am a novice
at working on 8N's so any suggestions would be
appreciated!!!!
