Mild winter here in Michigan this year, left more supplies on for the bees then I normally do. Feb. they all looked great from the outside, lot's of bees coming and going. I was waiting for a warm day do open them for inspection. Middle of march and two of my best hives dead. Have one left that's doing fine. Hopefully will get a split maybe two off it. Used to run 20-30 colonies with a buddy, but then our bulk buyer raised the minimum and we were left with more honey then we could get rid of. Buddy lost interest, and retail sales just isn't practical for me. Still like to have a couple hives around though. JD
