Interesting concept on the mower deck...
Remember my uncle had one similar, would have been late 60's. The blades were gear driven with a common shaft. The blades were longer than the center distance between them and were timed to intersect without hitting. The gears were too light and gave trouble.
For whatever reason I also remember that heavy cast aluminum grill!
