a while back I shot a Ruger LCR at the range. A rental gun from the place. It didn't have any of the problems you described with the first one you handled. Since then I handled several in various gun stores and all seemed well put together. I own a number of Ruger firearms including an old "Security Six" in 357 mag and have found them to be well built and reliable. The only complaint I have with the Security Six is that yo don't seem to be able to smooth up the action like on a S&W revolver
