Yes, the replies were probably a little harsh but your example is not in any way the same. You guys agreed on a price knowing exactly what was being sold and bought. He knew shat he was selling and what it was worth. I have had the chance to buy things where the seller didn't know the worth and I pay them a fair price that is more than what they are asking. If a store charged you guys $175 too much would you just say it was their mistake and it doesn't matter? Would you just walk away if they thought it was to much work to give you a refund. Yes, stores know there will be losses due to theft and errors so they build it in and all of us pay more to cover it. Bottom line is you have to be able to live with yourself either way. If the mistake is a couple of bucks, their time is probably worth more than correcting the error. If it is $175 you need to make it right, like the poster did, even if it is difficult.
