Just to throw this out there, I enjoy reading all the posts giving me some information on potential issues I may come across as a fairly new owner of a tractor, as my username suggests. Some posts I've read seem to be an easy fix and some are way out of anything I would want to tackle myself. 1=I've got a tractor somehow but don't know diddly. 2=I've driven it without hurting anyone. 3=I'm good but no expert. 4=expert and of course 5 is someone that most likely rebuilds his tractor every couple of months just for something to do :D Of course I put a little humor in there but seriously when you post something and gave yourself a rating of a 2, the information may be more in depth as opposed to someone with a 4. You could rate yourself in your bio to be posted with your username. It also give you an idea of the knowledge of who's giving the advice. One more thought, I see a lot of posts with almost nothing in the subject line, like "Ford Blue" what does that mean? You might not receive a response to help you if the subject doesn't give anyone a clue as to the problem. Like I said, just some ideas to hopefully help. :D

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
