What jumps out at me are the two cages for the split rims. Used to scare the devil out of me airing them up and waiting for the bead to pop and praying that if one came apart that it wouldn't take my hand off, even in a cage, although I guess that alternative could have been having my head taken off (literally) without a cage. I know that some guys used chains and still do. Luckily I never had one come apart. Don't know if it was luck or maybe cleaning the surfaces with a wire brush to knock off loose rust is what did it. Used to scare me.
