Have read/heard it all before on here. It is NOT about technology or time of day/night or convenience. There's a lot of info one can get from a phone call that one can't get any other way. Character , tone , demeanor , nationality , honesty and a few others. If, at any time, you are going to have to talk person to person anyway (which should be a requirement for any sale over $ 100) then it may as well be the FIRST call. I've been in the service industry all my life and there is NO substitute for person to person conversation. I've said this before , if you (or a friend/relative) can't or won't call my phone number, I will ,without reservation, consider it a no-sale. Everyone has ,or can get someone to help if needed. Accept for e-bay, I won't sell a carb to someone unless I can talk to them to make sure it is really their problem. Almost impossible to do on e-mail or any text media. And on e-bay, I send with shipment any/all pertinent info about carb AND also my real name and phone # if they need it. Just today got a call from buyer in Minnesota to let me know it worked flawlessly. Priceless! E-mail.....not so much. Has served me well for a lot of years and none of the negatives.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
