Yep, the '93 Volvo 850 was the beginning of the inline 5-cylinder in their US-sold cars that ended in 2014 with S60 T5 as the last of the 5-bangers. A really fine engine with great drivability, lots of power when turbocharged, and long lived if serviced properly. I work on many of them that are over 10 years old and over 150K miles. I own a '98 V70 with 169K on it, still going strong.
Mercedes built a 3.0 liter 5-cylinder diesel in 1974 that sold for $12,000 and was known as the slowest car over $10,000 at that time. :oops:

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
