It's been 9 months now since I broke my leg. It wasn't healing right. The bone wasn't mending back together. I had to have a second surgery in February. They rebroke it, removed the first pin they put in it and installed a larger one. So I was in for a checkup yesterday and got good news for a change. Xrays show I'm starting to heal. Still a couple/few months before I can go back to work but there's light at the end of the tunnel. Doc gave me a plastic boot yesterday and said I can start walking on it. GENTLY. Assisted by crutches for a couple more weeks. It brought tears to my eyes when he told me that. I snapped a photo of his computer screen. The right picture was taken 8 weeks ago and the left pic yesterday. You can see the break on the right and it's knitting back together on the left. This is my tibia - the larger bone between the knee and ankle. It's been a long, slow haul.
