I have two White 2-155s. One is a series 1 Sn 278-330-414 and the other is at the tail end of series 2 Sn 291-759-414. I will be repainting them soon. What I noticed though is that the side panels of the older one are gray with silver stripes and the numbers are black with a white border. Meanwhile the newer one seems reversed that is gray stripes on a silver background and the numbers are white with a black border. They are of course weathered but the difference is still evident. The paint looks original so did White change the color scheme along the way? I plan on having them both painted the both the same regardless. I have seen the pictures with the silver stripes on gray posted here (very nice) but I am curious what the gray stripes on silver looks like when new or redone. I want to choose the nicest color. Right now I am leaning to the silver stripes on gray. I am asking for insights and opinions please.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule.
