Just got back out there myself. Between the last time i planted here in my part of NWIA and now my three gauges had all the way from 5.5 to 6.14". Worked 90 acres this afternoon and plan to get it planted by 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. That leaves 80 acres to work and plant by sunday eve when they talk more rain. I'm a one man show this year and i am finding out this body doesnt have the stamina it used to have. Even with auto steer and a nice quiet air conditioned cab i cant make it more than 12-14 hours anymore.
Last field i planted i had one round to go to finish and row#10 blew a fuse and the motor for that row quit. Replaced the fuse and away i went again. I compare the fuse to the modern version of a chain link. During the rain i logged onto the cloud and found out i have been averaging 4.8 MPH while planting and the singulation was 99.6%. Its a whole different world planting today compared to the first twenty years of my planting experience pulling a simple IH 58 planter with a two banger Deere.
