"please ask farmers from Minnesota (or elsewhere) interested in the ROPS program to like and follow the National Tractor Safety Coalition page (link below) and to call NYCAMH 607-547-6023 or Leslie Rabbe at 410 280 2000 (Minnesota in particular).
I had a conversation with Leslie this morning. there is an effort to take the (mostly northeast) ROPS (cost-share) program nationwide. Minnesota legislature is debating a program in their state, so it would be timely for Minnesotans to let them know of support. i'm not sure of the $$ amount, but in NY, the legislative appropriation was $100,000 for several years. not real significant in a whatever Billion$$ budget. i personally know 3 farmers who are still alive and well because of retrofitting the ROPS, including one on my farm (not me).
