Well Jerrod you only gave us partial information.
First things first. The US sold JD 4040 had the 404 engine in it. So you either have a JD 4050 or JD 4040S. These did have the 359 turboed engine in them. Second, I do not under stand the not wanting to buy parts from JD when the fuel line in question is not high priced. AR78296 is number six injector line, full list price is $44.28. That is not a bad price for the OEM part. So if price is your objection then I would try finding a used one. I can tell you a custom made fuel injection line from most injection pump repair places will cost way more than $45.
If none of this works then I guess just park it or drive it leaking.
