I read Don's post below about needing another tractor. I bought an Allis 7060 power shift tractor 10 yrs ago primarily to pull a Morris Hay-Hiker. It's a pretty decent old tractor, even came with a Du-all loader w/grapple ! I 'replaced' it two years ago with a New Holland 8870 -- much nicer to operate when you spend a lot of hours in it. I was going to sell the old Allis, but hadn't got it advertised. Last season It 'bailed me out" twice. The NH broke a strg. cyl. ball stud and I waited 4 days for the part! The Allis went back on the hay-hiker. Later our 1086's hyd. pump failed, so the big Allis finished our season on the Vee rake. I've given up the thought of selling it (wouldn't sell for much anyway) The "old wreck" is going to be here for awhile -- we keep finding odd jobs for it anyway.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
