Elwood Kirkpatrick passed away. I just happened to walk in the door when the notice came up on the screen on channel 5.
Those of you who didn't know him,he was the President of Michigan Milk Producers Association for 27 years (1981 – 2007); he was an officer in the D.M.I., National Milk Producers Association, National Dairy Promotional Organization, on the State Fair Board, School Board for North Huron Schools for eight years, chairman on the U.S. Dairy Export Council, and on the President Advisory Council.
He and I had a lot of spirited discussions at various meetings over the years. At one MMPA State Resolutions Committee meeting,he pulled me and the president of the Alma Local out in the hall and told us that we were keeping him awake at night. lol As much as we went head to head from time to time,we both always smiled all the way through it. He was one of a kind. He'll be missed.
