Or, swap it out to something more repairable, by a good shop. Have had this problem twice, went to local longtime truck/industrial/specialty clutch & joint shop and they swapped out the joints as well as the shafts. They recommended a higher-rpm shaft for one on a higher-revving mower engine & changed out the now-obsolete joints to ones that have readily-available parts. Very good work, they also balanced 'em, cost was vey reasonable & turnaround was quick (though they did say that they do get a lot busier on Th & F during summer racing season). FWIW, we went to Dayton Clutch & Joint.
