That's my nightmare - hydraulic all over everything. I've spent hundreds replacing hoses I thought might blow just to avoid the mess. The only thing worse than hydraulic all over your machine is having it blow all over you. I instantly feel 30 degrees hotter. When that happens I drop everything and go shower ( and burn the clothes).
It came back to haunt me a few years ago. I was drilling wheat with the 435 drill on the 4440. The down pressure guage blew, shot hydro all over the planter and tractor, shot up in the air over the cab, and got sucked through the fan and blown all over the front of the tractor. All in the span of 1.5 seconds. I just about cried. After replacing the guage and two five gallon buckets of hydraulic fluid I spent a couple of hours cleaning.
