Thing is back in the 60's Ford, GM, Chrysler and a couple of companies like Motorola made most of their stuff right here. They sold stuff to companies like Deere, IH and AC. Then there was an antitrust movement that cause them to split stuff like AC and Motorcraft off. That eventually led to things like starters and generators moving off shore. Now there were several reason for that to include labor cost but also included EAP and OSHA concerns.
AS far as where the profits go, sure the share holder get dividends but corporate profit stays in the US. And MF is an American owned brand, AGCO owns them, the HQ is in Duluth MN.
