Bob, I haven't seen anything growing on my blue cans of lithium batteries.
Yesterday I was mowing around a rental house I put Reynolds aluminum siding on in 1979. I was admiring how nice it looked and the fact that I haven't done anything to it, ever.
The rest of my rentals I put vinyl on and I have to clean every year, green mold. Had I knows that aluminum would have been maintenance free, I would have spent the extra money and not worked so hard over the years cleaning the vinyl.
From 1991-96 I doubled the size of my house up north. Everything got replaced, electrical, windows, doors, plumbing, new bathrooms, kitchen, walls moved total remodel, insulation upgrade, extra ventilation, power vents, eve vents, roof vents, doubled the size, 25000 brick and a 2 car garage. I spent twice the money on the remodel than I paid for the house in 1977. I did 99% of the work too.
I sealed the brick when I finished. Never done a thing to the brick. No trim to paint, Boss wanted a touch , 8 square, of vinyl added to the back of house for accent only. Wish I hadn't listened to her. I have to clean it every year. geo
