John M, You are right, I stand corrected. I had to zoom in to see them. Did you zoom in on my sure track that I've had for 5 years. NO CLEARANCE LIGHTS ON MY FENDER. Think I'll burn because my trailer wasn't built according to code ? Or spend time with the politicians from Illinois in the federal prison just a few miles away?
Guy I eat breakfast with, 78 years old ex trucker, son works for DOT, told me rarely if ever will DOT mess with me, I'm too small a fish and not commercial. They have better things to do.
I plan to mount new lights just like the gator trailer, up higher up on the flat spot of trailer, close to the the stake pocket.
Problem solved. Going to weld 4 inch channel or larger to side of trailer to mount light as high as possible to keep plate from getting bent up and out just enough out for plate to fit. Hoping fender will add all the protection I need. That point shouldn't swing out as much as the rear.
Thanks to all, Signing out. Giving my horse a rest. geo

Well, although these tires were in good shape as far as tread was concerned, they looked real sad. All were flat, but new tubes fixed that.
