I removed battery and discovered why GMC uses AGM sealed battery. It appears acid leaked from vent is my cheap flooded excide, went down the front and got to metal battery holder. I removed battery, cleaned it up, rustolum.
For what's it worth. GM dealer wanted $165 to replace OEM battery, less than 5 years old. My $45 excide is about the same age. I usually desulfate battery 3 or 4 times a year. Passed conductivity test when last serviced at dealer. Need to figure out how to keep the iron worms away from battery holder.
