those cars were worth taking the time to shine up ,,.around 1972 or so ,, a neighbor kid ha d a 41 chevy very similar to that ,,.mice had lived in it too long ,and had a 1962 plate , he had it given to him because he cut a ladies grass , and I helped get it running ,.they pizt me off .after I got it runnin.. IT WAS a STRAIGHT Car, but they got to driving log roads in the woods and jumping ramps and such , knokt a hole in the oil pan and lokt her up ... DAmshame. the kid ended up in jail a few yrs later, and his son was sent up 20 yrs later,. nother kid took a straight 48 Plymouth his dad give him on his 15th birthday and turned it into a jungle bugie,,no hood , no top , no fenders ,no mufflers, chains on the rear tires and the durn thing had positive track .. they went everywhere ..

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
