I shipped a set of arms off of a 706 Farmall via UPS once.
Depending on the weight, there are a couple options. You can box it and send it ups. They will accept up to 150 pounds (but I drop all my shipments off at a ups hub locally.. The "ups store" locally won't accept my larger items.. Counter person explained situation and I understand why). Downside is its hard to get a box to stand up to the weight sometimes.
I have also shrink wrapped some things and shipped not in a box (example is a cast iron slab weight I sold), but I didn't think the weight would be damaged not being in a box.
I have debated crating some items to ship, but the cost of me building a crate is hard to recover, plus the added weight jacks up shipping costs.
Shipping on a pallet can also be done, but more costly.. But not as costly as some think.. Got a quote to ship a set of wheel centers from MI to PA, took one day to get there, cost about $250, iirc.. I thought that was pretty fair.
