I have an old Yazoo zero turn. It is old enough that it has the 2 speed twin disc clutch type transmission. It has a cast iron single cylinder Briggs and Stratton. I think it is 16 hp, although I cannot find anything on the engine to verify that. I am looking for the engine identification information. I removed and cleaned the flywheel cooling shroud. I was told that was a common location. No information stamped on it. I removed the gas tank looking for the information on the block there. Again no ID. I am next going to clean off the carburetor side of the block and around the flywheel to see if is any information there. Any other ideas on where to look? On occasion I need to order parts and it is "hope and poke" to try to get the correct parts. Thanks in advance, I will respond if I find out anything. Also posted in Garden Tractors

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
