I have read about this product. Everything I can find show it to be more targeted towards Bermuda grass and Bahia grass hay fields. It main target seems to be Johnson grass. Nothing I have read says it is safe to use in the more common cold climate grasses like yours are. What I can gather it that it will kill the grasses your growing if used in a very high rate and even with a low rate it will stun the grasses.
It is not labeled to be used on hay fields other than those seeded with Bermuda grass and Bahia grass. The label says NON crop areas when talking about any other grasses. The label warns about grass stunting even in those none crop areas. It also talks about a 12 month cropping restrictions on anything but wheat.
You should talk to a company representative about your grasses. They list this number for information. 1-800-332-3111
Just looking at the label leads me to think it would NOT be good for your hay fields.
