I think what has you confused is the offset setup of the A. Assuming that no modifications have been made- The A has an 18 inch axle extension on the right side ONLY. There is no axle extension on the left side, the left final drive/drop box is bolted directly to the differential case. The seat bracket will be tight against the right fender, it will have a wide front axle. The BN will have an 18 inch axle extension on BOTH sides, seat bracket will be tight against the fender, it had single front wheel. The B has a 22 inch axle extensions on BOTH sides, there will be a 4 inch gap between the seat & fender. Front had narrow, 2 wheel setup, although I think single front wheel was an option. Engine, transmission, gear train was the same for all 3 models. The C was a completely different machine, replacing the B in 48. Engine & transmission the same, but axles extended directly from the differential with sliding hub style wheel spacing. The seat platform was on top of diff & centered, along with steering wheel. I know this is as clear as mud, but it covers the ground. Willie

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
