Why? M's start easily on 6 volts. It is hard to
keep 8 volt batteries charged with 6 volt systems.
You need a good 6 volt battery with at least 550
CCA. Starter may need bushings and brushes. I have
more trouble with voltage reg. than anything else.
Remember that you can hand crank a M if it is
tuned properly and the carb. is in good cond.
