If it is the axle clutch, last winter I relined one in an ED-40, same clutch. Linings are available. I don't remember where We got them though. Other parts I don't know. It is possible just cleaning it up and installing new linings might do it. There is a way of making it engage a little better. If you look around on the Unoficial Allis web site there might be pictures there. Basically you machine off some from each of the three fingers that are the frame of the clutch so that it doesn't disengage as much. The clearance is figured after you have all the new parts. If you machine off too much shims could be made to space it back or in the future incase thicker lining wore found.
