Don't be quick to pass judgment, I thought the answer's given were in line. Without a book or manual or a illustration of the PTO it's rather hard to picture it's assemble. There is a couple if my memory serves me correctly between the drive & driven shafts. My assumption is some had a flat back light weight housing on the rear of this tractor & they just reinstalled a complete rockshaft housing & left out the couple. There isn't a way of finding out until you look. The lever in the trans case that attaches to the shift linkage link can be viewed from the top if the shift tower is removed & the tranny drained. This way you can make sure the linkage is connected. If it's shifts in & out then the only answer is to remove the rear housing & that is Very heavy!! Good luck with it...
