I pay for my oil changes now. No waste to get rid of and the place I take it to I can stand in the shop and watch them do it and they do look it over.
AS far as paying for a wash? Well that depends. Wife and I drove by one years ago now. Big signs "all proceeds" for a kids cancer hospital. They had a large tent set up and were doing the wash inside the tent. The sign also said the wash was being done by dancers from a strip club and the washers were totally nude! I joked with my wife, some guy will get home to an angry wife who will demand "where have you been the last 3 hours?". And the husband replying, "honey, I was getting the car washed........8 times and the line was terrible"!
