Oil filter is on rear of engine inboard of the brake pedal, starter is on bottom front. Kneel down on the right front, wrap each eyeball around the dipstick tube and the two bolts holding the starter are evident, although the only time I took one off was when blowing snow for hours and filled the starter nose full of ice. while on your knees you'll see a blue wire plugged into the bottom of the solenoid, that energizes the starter if all the interlocks and aux. solenoid work. Next time it won't start wiggle the shifter and pto lever.
